A Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, pronounced "mack") occurs as college athletic conference which operates in the northeastern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Section We-AA for footb100% & Division We for all more sports. Virtually all of the members come Catholic institutions.

Rich Ensor is the Commissioner of the MAAC, the post he has held since 1988.

A conference was founded around 1980 by six charter members: the U.S. Military Academy, Fairfield University, Fordham University, Iona College, Manhattan College and Saint Peter’s College. Competition officially began a next season, in the sports of men’s cross-country and men’s soccer.

Competition inside men's & women's basketball began in 1982.

A league added football in 1993.

From either 1997 to 2003, the MAAC sponsored ice hockey. At that period, a hockey league split from either a MAAC & changed its title to Atlantic Hockey.
